Tamo Ash
This is Hokkaido Ash in natural color (urethane coating). It is a deciduous broadleaf tree of the Fraxinus genus in the Oleaceae family. It is found in Hokkaido, northern and central Honshu, as well as the Korean Peninsula, China, Sakhalin, and Siberia, and this tree is from Hokkaido. The annual rings are clearly visible, with large vessels arranged in a ring at the boundary between them (ring-porous wood). The heartwood is brown and the sapwood is pale yellowish-white. The wood is strong and has been used for structural and bridge materials since ancient times, and has been favored as a furniture material due to its beautiful and uniform grain.
