Nara (Japanese Oak)
This is Hokkaido Oak in natural white color (urethane coating). It is a broadleaf tree of the Fagaceae family, including Mizunara and Konara. The heartwood is gray-brown with spots on the straight grain surface, and the wood is heavy and hard and easily split. It is used for furniture, whiskey barrels, flooring, etc. It is found in Japan, Russia, and China, and the oak produced in Hokkaido is collectively called Hokkaido Oak.

Black Walnut
Walnut natural color (urethane coating). A deciduous broadleaf tree of the Juglandaceae family, found in North America. The Japanese variety Onigurumi is an example, with its sapwood being gray-brown and its heartwood being purple-brown or chocolate-colored. The material is strong and has little warping, and is used for high-end furniture and is also highly valued as a gun stock material. It is also known as black walnut or Western walnut.
